I’ve never received a traffic speed citation, although I can not say I shouldn’t have. My husband tells me that I’ve got to slow down, and I do for the most part, but when I get on the interstate I’ve a problem staying within the speed limitation. I’m not one of those who goes 90 and zooms in and out of traffic just because my car can, but I do seem to go 70 or 75. I do slow down when my little girl is in the car, but for some or another reason I just can not seem to slow down when I am by myself in the car.
I know that I will most likely end up receiving a traffic speed citation one of these days, and I do know I’ve been lucky so far. I am not nearly as bad as many that I know, and I can not imagine that I am in the minority. There are lots of individuals that refuse to slow down, and they are the types who rarely seem to receive the traffic tickets. It seems like the people that commonly follow the speed limitation are the ones that get caught the only time they decide to go a bit faster.
My husband has never been given a traffic speed citation either, but I think that’s just luck as well. He is not quite as bad as I am, but he does go too fast every so often. Those occasions don’t usually occur when our little girl is in the car, so possibly she has helped the both of us to keep away from getting a traffic speed citation. Though we should be concerned about ourselves for her sake, having her in the car is an extremely noticeable reminder to slow down.
When you get a traffic speed citation, you ought to know that it’ll add points to your license, and your insurance may go up. You can contest the ticket, but you’d better have a decent reason for your speeding.
There are instances when an officer won’t issue you a ticket, but they will issue you a warning. It actually depends on the scenario and how fast you were going as opposed to everybody else on the street. If you are going incredibly fast, you may find yourself with an entire new set of difficulties. You may get a ticket for irresponsible driving, and that’s much worse for your license and your wallet.
